The Client Development Lead is responsible for growing and stabilizing G3 Quality’s contractor-facing QC business by developing strong contractor relationships, proactively identifying upcoming work, and coordinating closely with internal Project Management teams. This role blends relationship-driven client development with structured intake, proposal coordination, and internal alignment, ensuring QC work is proactive, forecastable, and aligned with operational capacity.

The Client Development Lead is responsible for growing and stabilizing G3 Quality’s contractor-facing QC business by developing strong contractor relationships, proactively identifying upcoming work, and coordinating closely with internal Project Management teams. This role blends relationship-driven client development with structured intake, proposal coordination, and internal alignment, ensuring QC work is proactive, forecastable, and aligned with operational capacity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contractor Relationship Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- General contractor superintendents
- Business Owners
- Contractor project managers and estimators
- Operations and self-performing construction teams
- Maintain consistent contractor touchpoints before, during, and after construction.
- Serve as a public-facing representative of the organization by attending events, engaging stakeholders, and representing the organization positively within the community.
- Identify upcoming bids, awarded projects, and repeat contractor opportunities.
- Strengthen long-term contractor loyalty and repeat QC engagements.
- Review and qualify inbound leads and contractor requests.
- Proactively identify and track QC opportunities prior to construction start.
- Create and manage a QC Opportunity Board (Monday.com) modeled after QA best practices
- Maintain accurate visibility into:
- Active pursuits
- Pending awards
- Forecasted QC workload and backlog
- Track proposal status, opportunity stage, and probability with discipline
Proposal & Sales Coordination
- Prepare and coordinate QC proposals using Excel- and Word-based templates.
- Review, edit, and support proposal development for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with scope.
- Manage:
- Proposal numbering and setup
- Bid calendars and deadlines
- Proposal delivery and submission tracking
- Coordinate subconsultant inputs and required documentation as needed
- Prepare sales documentation for weekly and monthly meetings
PM & Operations Alignment
- Work closely with QC Project Managers and Operations Leadership to:
- Understand staffing capacity and technical capabilities
- Anticipate resource and scheduling needs
- Engage PMs early in the pursuit lifecycle
- Ensure awarded work is handed off cleanly and on time
- Reduce last-minute scope changes, staffing conflicts, and reactive intake
Intake, Handoff & Internal Coordination
- Capture and organize inbound QC requests from contractors and partners.
- Read and interpret RFPs/RFQs to ensure complete and thoughtful responses.
- Coordinate internal alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Maintain backlog and forecasting tools with daily updates.
- Share contractor market intelligence with QA Client Development and Marketing teams.
- Identify cross-selling and strategic growth opportunities across QA and QC services.
- 2+ years of experience in the A/E/C industry (materials testing & inspection experience a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with CRM or opportunity tracking tools preferred
- Ability to read and understand technical project documents and RFPs
- Proactive mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- High school diploma required, college education a plus
